Top 10 Memorable Scenes of The Hunger Games Catching Fire Movie

We have joined the rebellion in Panem through watching the enigmatic scenes of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie. We hated President Snow's ruthless and oppressive leadership. We love Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. We felt sympathy for Gale Hawthorne as he told his best friend that he wants to stay and face the hardship in District 12.

As fans of The Hunger Games trilogy, we are familiar of the scenes of Catching Fire that is the latest movie of the said franchise. To go through the captivating life of our favorite heroine, Katniss Everdeen, let us talk about the top 10 memorable scenes of the movie.

1. Becoming the Mockingjay

Caesar Flickerman didn't know what to do when the crowd was in commotion after seeing Katniss Everdeen in a Mockingjay outfit. Cinna has made her a powerful symbol of the rebellion by creating such an enigmatic attire. From the elegantly designed wedding dress to the mockingjay outfit, Katniss has caused the audience to break into a wild applause.

2. At the reaping for the Quarter Quell
I like the way Elizabeth Banks' character showed off her disbelief and sadness in taking another reaping, this time, with her two victors and the mentor, Haymitch Abernathy. She's skilled in keeping a balance as an announcer, friend of the possible tributes and ally or worker of the Capitol. Saddened by the situation, Effie's actions made Katniss cry. When Peeta volunteered for Haymitch, it was one of the most heart-wrenching scenes of the movie.

3. Tribute parade for the Quarter Quell

The tribute parade is electrifying. The whole set-up is very elegant. I like the drummers, the Capitol setting and President Snow's obvious hatred against the girl on fire. On the other hand, Katniss stared at the leader of Panem with a new kind of dignity. The elegant set-up, her dress and Peeta's attire that later on catches  fire as Cinna created, completed the hype of the tribute parade.

4. Hunting with Gale

The kiss between Gale and Katniss in the woods, after their hunting spree and before the reaping, increased our curiosity if they have decided to accept their fate. But as Katniss is not sure of her feelings towards her best friend, it was even sadder when she will soon leave him again and join Peeta in the arena for the Quarter Quell.

5. At the training center with Mags

Mags taught us motherly love when she volunteered for Annie Cresta, Finnick Odair's lover. She inspired us when she befriended Katniss in the training center.

6. Prim's knowledge about hope

Prim, Katniss's little sister, has grown up through the difficult situation in Panem. She knew that things are getting better when her big sister volunteered for her in the 74th Hunger Games reaping. She mentioned about hope in a way that reminds us of her transition from a terrified little girl to a grown up young woman in District 12.

7. President Snow's visit

Katniss can't believe that President Snow's visit in the Victor's Village is lethal. It could mean death of the people she cared about. Luckily, she has the courage to trade in something to prevent nasty things to happen. She must convince the President that she loves Peeta so dearly.

8. Peeta's locket for Katniss

Peeta loved her so dearly. He is willing to give her the locket that contains the photos of Katniss's mother and sister, including her beat friend Gale Hawthorne.

9. Cinna's brutal arrest

When the peacekeepers assaulted Cinna right before the start of the Hunger Games, it was to unhinge Katniss and she knows it. We think that the scene is dramatic in a sense that the two has developed a bond of friendship so unsettling for the terrifying things that made up the Hunger Games. After all, Katniss's stylist was instrumental in her success in defying the Capitol.

10. Peeta stopped breathing after hitting the force field

Perhaps, she loved him. Finnick can't even believe she acted that way. But we know that she has been protecting her co-tribute from District 12. As we know it, it started from the trick with the berries. The scene is very emotionally engaging since Jennifer Lawrence is an expert in showing off raw emotion. Obviously, she is our perfect Katniss Everdeen for the film edition of the famed trilogy.
